Sturgeon Spawning in Shiocton

Spring’s a little late this year, but coming sooner than you think it will be time for the sturgeon to spawn again. Leave it to Wisconsinites to come out in droves to celebrate the cycle of life. This is a pretty simple thing to take in, just drive there, park and step out along the riverbank and wait for a sturgeon to show up. This isn’t like trying to get a good place to watch a band, at least it wasn’t for us, the people around us tried to work together to give everyone a good view.
You won’t need directions once in Shiocton. It is off Hwy 54, just west of Shiocton. You should be able to easily find it by following the “To Sturgeon Spawning” signs. Hurry, they won’t be there much longer!
